Christopher Brown is a guitarist, performer, recording artist, and teacher based in the Boston area. His playing is rooted in jazz and blues, with a deep love for rock, funk, reggae, and ska, and the great guitarists and records that shaped those traditions.
As a performer, Christopher has played throughout New England and New York with a variety of groups, including the Chris Brown Trio, The Attractors, Fat and Gristle Blues Band, Jorgan +1 Trio, John Frazee Trio, Shane Alessio Band, Riki Rocksteady All Stars, Hot Biscuit, and Jambalaya Horns. He performs throughout Massachusetts, New England, and New York
Christopher grew up in Newton, MA listening to Freddie King, Buddy Guy, and Magic Sam. He graduated from Berklee College of Music, where he studied Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, George Benson, and Charlie Parker—music that continues to influence the way he plays, teaches, and approaches the guitar.
He has released several albums, including On Pointe, Love Bombs, and Everything and Nothing, and has performed with Dion Knibb and opened for The Slackers and Lee “Scratch” Perry.
